STUDENTS TO BRING: Rubber gloves & plastic bags to take home their wet yarn
DESCRIPTION: In this class we will dye the rainbow using plants and bugs! We will be using raw dyestuffs as well as extracts to get achieve a spectrum of colors. We will practice over-dyeing, mixing different dyes together in the vat, and modifying dyes with iron. Discussion of mordanting will take place in class but won’t be done in class.
Students will take home handouts and 8 mini-skeins of wool yarn.
