PREREQUISITE: Have a general understanding of basic weaving techniques. Beginners are welcome.
MATERIAL FEES: $40 includes warp and weft for both types of weaving and the use of a little loom and weaving tools. Looms may be purchased at the end of the class for an additional fee.

DESCRIPTION: Spend a day exploring two classic pattern-weaving techniques that create bold design on simple looms. In the morning we’ll work krokbragd, a dense Norwegian pick-up structure known for graphic blocks and color play. In the afternoon we shift to overshot, using warp floats and plain weave to create a larger central design. You’ll leave with samples, a working understanding of how each type of pattern is built, and fresh ideas for using structure and color in small weavings or inspiration to take these techniques to a bigger loom.
