DESCRIPTION: Learn how to make Skinnfells – beautiful handmade sheepskin blankets with decorative patterns. A traditional Scandinavian handcraft technique with long history in Sweden & Norway. You will learn basic hand sewing techniques and how to use wood block printing to personalize your own project. Class time will allow for you to practice new techniques before applying them to your own skinnfell. We will cover basic knowledge such as selection of sheepskins and other material for hand sewing purposes and you will return home with skills useful for a wide variety of sheepskin / leather craft. Each student will finish their own 2 sheepskin Skinnfell.
