Sheep

Lorraine Perry has been raising Jacob sheep for over 25 years at her off-grid homestead in the hills of Larimer County, Colorado. Managing a flock in this mountainous environment presents unique challenges, requiring year-round hay feeding and nightly barn shelter to ensure flock health and well-being. She has been an active participant in the Estes Park Wool Market for the past 25 years, both as a competitor and a vendor. Her expertise in sheep and fleece evaluation has been shaped by training with respected judges Marvin Culver and Ingrid Painter. Lorraine has also served as a fleece judge at the Boulder County Fair on multiple occasions. A member of the Northern Colorado Weavers Guild and the Rocky Mountain Natural Color Sheep Breeders Association, Lorraine brings deep knowledge of heritage breeds and natural fiber production. Though her focus remains on flock management, she maintains a collection of six spinning wheels and enjoys working with her own wool when time permits
